Great clip about Barry Mcgee aka TWIST from the wonderful art documentary Beautiful Losers. Mcgee is probably one of the first street artists to be taken seriously by the contemporary museum circuit and continues to reinvent the way his style is presented.

German Seniors Take Up Graffiti
Never Too Old for Graffiti All across Germany, similar initiatives are encouraging the country’s older generations to explore graffiti as a means of self-expression. The Mosaik Kreis, a senior citizens’ activity group in the northern German city of Marl, caught the local media’s attention this spring when its participants picked up spray cans for a graffiti activity day. Jutta Hinz, who co-manages the group, arranged the event after learning about a graffiti project which works to engage young people who lack interest in their studies.

Durban Graffiti Art Wows Local Crowds
Andreas Chasomeris who ran the competition said that the daily events had been a hit with parents who loved that their kids could “legally” spray paint graffiti to their hearts content. He mentioned that parents “preferred (their children) getting creative on canvasses at the Durban Beach Festival rather than on blank walls at home.” All the spray paint was supplied to the graffiti artists who had two hours each day to create their works of art and show off their skills to everyone walking by.
